The Scottish Young Lawyers' Association (“SYLA”) is a non-profit organisation that serves to educate, entertain and represent young lawyers in Scotland, and has been doing so since 1974. Under our remit, "young lawyers" includes LLB students, Diploma students, trainees and all lawyers up to 10 years qualified. The SYLA regularly organises CPD events and social functions for junior members of the profession. The SYLA conducts representation work on behalf of its members to ensure that their views and interests are heard in matters relating to the teaching and practice of law.

We keep your personal information securely for as long as you are a member of the SYLA. Once you are no longer a member of the SYLA we will delete your information within one calendar month of this date.

With your consent, we or our partners will contact you to let you know about products or services from our partners which we think will benefit you. Our partners differ for each event we host and we will advise you of these partners prior to requesting your consent to pass any of your personal information to them.

- market SYLA events to you; or
- market events from our partners, such as the Law Society of Scotland, to you.
