The SYLA is independent of the Law Society of Scotland and has been since 1974.
This makes the SYLA uniquely placed to tackle representation issues on behalf of young lawyers, for young lawyers. In recent years, we have led campaigns on wellbeing in the workplace for young lawyers, trainee redundancies, diploma funding and established a pro bono panel of employment advisers for young lawyers to access in times of need.
