Maryam Labaki

Maryam obtained a BA in Business Management with Marketing before electing to read law at Edinburgh University where she remained for her Diploma in Legal Practice. Following University, Maryam commenced her traineeship in criminal law and now works as an Assistant at Capital Defence Lawyers in Edinburgh.

Maryam joined the SYLA as a student representative in 2003.  From 2007 to June 2009, Maryam was President, a post she undertook with great enthusiasm. During this time Maryam established a close relationship with the Law Society and is continuing to work on various joint projects with them whilst maintaining SYLA as an independent organisation.
